Knowing what the user wants is an experience, and the ways the users relate, or interact with a product is also an experience. So, the term ‘’ UX’’ which is user experience is relevant in every facet of the product lifecycle. It helps the user to understand the product and give them the sense of interacting with all the feature or element of the product easily without any hassle.
User experience is the art of solving complex problems in an easy form so that the users can navigate the product conveniently without a headache. For instance, if a product has a bad UX, it will certainly frustrate the users, but when a product has a good UX, it will attract the love of the users and it will be intuitive for usage.
The term UX is described as the overall experience a user has when engaging or interacting particular product or service in a given context. Depending on how the product or service is designed, the experience can range from excitement to annoyance in terms of execution. Especially, when the UX designer, UXD doesn’t design the product to have the users in mind.
However, you often hear the word UXD, which is similar to User Experience Designer. The UXD is the person who designs the experience of the product that the users like or dislike. It could be a website and app or anything that can be experienced through design, such as packaging and other items. The UXD needs to understand the psychology of the user. The users want a product that makes them happy, not a product that makes them regret actions. It needs to be simple and easy to interact with.
UX is everywhere. For instance, when you visit a store and you see a message written on the wall and nobody is available to give you instructions concerning that message; what that tells you is a bad experience because nobody is available to put you through. It shows the store does not think about the user. Every great product needs to think about the users.
The UX designers advocate for the user. They research, iterate, and test various design solutions. Ensuring that the product is easy to use by solving a complicated problem in a simple way, which makes it user-friendly. UX is all about helping people to solve problems.
UX designers look to bridge the gap between the product and the human user. They think about how people interact with a given product and look for ways to make these interactions as intuitive and straightforward as possible.
However, the term ‘’UX’’ was first coined in the 90s by Don Norman, who was a cognitive scientist at Apple. He pioneered the user-centered design, which means that the users need to be the center of every design. Meanwhile, he introduced the term ‘’ user experience ‘’, and in his own words, it meant to encompass ‘’ all aspects of the person’s experience with the system.
User experience is the art of every product because it gives the user the mind to understand the user's pinpoint and frustration about a particular feature. As the world evolves, it is encouraging that all companies, be it manufacturing or tech companies take user experience seriously.
